Regina initially approached the AP30 Music Boy with doubts, but a closer look at its internal components convinced her to try it. The experience completely changed her opinion, and she repeatedly describes the tiny player as her “new love,” especially enjoying how it brought her music collection back into everyday listening.
Small Design, Serious Audio Ambition
Regina is immediately charmed by the AP30’s compact appearance and black aluminum finish. She highlights its 2.0-inch IPS display, physical navigation controls, ALPS volume control and microSD support up to 256GB.
The package also includes accessories for connecting the AP30 to a smartphone, including a short cable and magnetic mounting solution. Regina appreciates how the small player can be attached directly to a phone while remaining easy to carry.
Versatility Wins Her Over
A major reason for Regina’s enthusiasm is how many listening options the AP30 provides. She uses Bluetooth 5.3 with her active speakers and is extremely impressed by the resulting experience. The player also provides 3.5mm single-ended and 4.4mm balanced outputs.
Regina tries several different headphones and IEMs and is surprised by how confidently the little device handles them. She particularly emphasizes that even one of her more demanding headphones works successfully with the AP30, contributing strongly to her excitement about its capabilities.
She also values its dedicated audio hardware and portable convenience, which made the product feel more substantial than she expected.
The AP30 can also work as a USB DAC, while music stored on a microSD card allows standalone playback. Regina has transferred music from her CD collection to a microSD card and says the AP30 has made rediscovering those albums genuinely fun.
A Feature-Packed Little Player
Navigation took Regina some time to understand at first because she initially missed the control diagram in the manual. Once she consulted it and experimented with the buttons, she found the basic operation straightforward.
She also points out the e-book function and retro puzzle game, although gaming is not personally important to her. For Regina, the AP30’s real appeal remains music and the freedom to enjoy it through different listening setups.
Overall Assessment
HiVi By Regina is exceptionally enthusiastic about the HIDIZS AP30 Music Boy. What initially looked like a toy-like product to her ultimately proved itself as a serious and highly enjoyable portable audio device.
She loves its compact retro styling, broad connectivity and ability to work with different headphones, IEMs and Bluetooth speakers. Most importantly, the AP30 has encouraged her to listen to more music and rediscover her CD collection. Regina considers it a clever, fun and surprisingly capable device, repeatedly describing herself as completely amazed and delighted by the experience and eager to continue listening to more music daily.
