HIDIZS MK12 X DUCBLOKE Review - Chris Love

Chris Love approaches the HIDIZS MK12 X DUCBLOKE as a deliberately specialized IEM rather than an all-rounder. He strongly enjoys its base tuning, describing it as warm, organic, earthy and emotionally engaging, with an almost-basshead presentation built around musical enjoyment. He also stresses that its intentionally colored character is part of the appeal rather than something designed around strict neutrality overall.

A Guilty-Pleasure Kind of Sound

For Chris, the low end is the clear centerpiece. Bass reaches deep with palpable slam, density and authority, yet he finds it impressively controlled considering its quantity. Transients remain relatively tight, while sub-bass provides physical rumble and mid-bass adds punch, groove and weight.

That emphasis inevitably shapes everything above it. The midrange is warm, thick and smooth, prioritizing musicality over analytical precision. Male vocals gain body and authority, while female vocals retain presence and articulation without becoming sharp. Chris particularly appreciates how emotionally gratifying the presentation can feel.

Treble takes a deliberately relaxed approach. It is smooth, safe and easygoing, avoiding harshness, glare and sibilance in his listening. However, listeners seeking abundant sparkle, air or highly analytical detail may find the base tuning too restrained.

PEQ Expands the Personality

A defining part of the collaboration is DucBloke’s three PEQ profiles: Hard Hit, Neutral and Sparkly. Chris finds all three thoughtfully constructed and says they produce meaningful changes.

Hard Hit reshapes the bass for greater punch and adds upper-frequency energy. Neutral moves the presentation toward a cleaner balance, while Sparkly provides the strongest contrast to the bass, improving perceived clarity, crispness and detail. Despite appreciating these options, Chris personally enjoys the stock tuning enough to make it the focus of his review.

Comfort, Accessories and Presentation

Chris praises the candy-red aluminum shells, matching cable, Divinus Velvet ear tips and DucBloke-branded carrying case. He finds the MK12 X comfortable and well built, although its fairly large shells could create fit concerns for smaller ears.

Its stage also impresses him for such a warm, bass-heavy single dynamic driver. He hears moderate width, good height and particularly convincing depth, producing a holographic presentation. Imaging is well done, though separation and fine-detail retrieval naturally trail more analytical tunings.

Overall Assessment

Chris Love considers the HIDIZS MK12 X DUCBLOKE one of the better warmly rendered IEMs he has experienced in its price range. Its rich bass, smooth mids, relaxed treble, dimensional stage and PEQ flexibility create a distinctive, emotionally driven listen.

Its biggest caveat is equally clear: listeners must enjoy warmth and substantial bass. It is not a technical showcase, strict reference monitor or ideal choice for every genre. For listeners seeking a smooth, powerful, musical and customizable presentation, however, Chris gives it an easy recommendation.
