HIDIZS MK12 X DUCBLOKE Review - Jaytiss

HIDIZS MK12 X DUCBLOKE Review - Jaytiss

Jaytiss approaches the HIDIZS MK12 X DUCBLOKE as an unusual, deliberately warm collaboration. Although he had not reviewed the original MK12, this version quickly wins him over with its organic character, generous bass and ability to respond well to equalization.

Warm, Rich and Made for Fun

Out of the box, Jaytiss hears a downward-sloping, bass-heavy presentation. He describes the bass as fun and thumpy, supported by a capable driver that also delivers richness and detail. The tonality is pleasant to him, but clearly warm enough that listeners sensitive to warmth may want something different.

Music choice matters. With R&B, he hears an especially convincing match, praising the sense of stage, atmosphere and scale. Hip-hop also suits the tuning well. On live recordings, voices can sound analog and strong, with an enjoyable feeling of being inside the performance.

Treble is pleasant rather than dominant. Jaytiss notes that cymbal hits can lack some clarity, but he still finds the resolution satisfying. He gives bass and dynamics a nine, saying dynamics are what really carry the set.

Space Beyond the Warmth

One of the qualities Jaytiss repeatedly returns to is soundstage. He describes it as wide and says the driver creates an epic sense of space. Technicalities are present in his experience, even though the MK12 X DUCBLOKE is designed more as an audiophile fun set than a dead-neutral monitor.

The mids remain well executed despite their warmth. Overall, he finds something distinctive in the combination of richness, relaxation and spaciousness.

PEQ Adds Another Dimension

Equalization is central to this collaboration. Jaytiss examines DucBloke’s Sparkle, Neutral and Hard-Hitting profiles, each shifting the presentation differently. He also creates his own EQ with additional lift in the air region and finds the result very enjoyable.

For him, this flexibility strengthens the package. Even listeners unsure about the stock graph can experiment with the supplied profiles, and he specifically notes that the IEM takes EQ well.

A Thoughtful Physical Package

Jaytiss likes the bright red shells, handsome matching cable and soft case, although he considers the case somewhat large for pocket use. He also appreciates the included Divinus Velvet ear tips and describes the IEM as comfortable and vented.

Overall Assessment

Jaytiss considers the HIDIZS MK12 X DUCBLOKE a solid, enjoyable collaboration with plenty to like. Its greatest strengths are its thumpy bass, excellent dynamics, rich presentation, wide staging and PEQ flexibility.

It is not intended for listeners chasing strict neutrality, and its warmth may be excessive for some tastes. For R&B, hip-hop and listeners wanting a fun, engaging single-driver presentation with room for personalization, however, Jaytiss finds it well made, distinctive and easy to recommend trying, especially for listeners curious about exploring EQ profiles.
