HIDIZS MK12 X DUCBLOKE Review - Audio Amigo

Omar of Audio Amigo sees the HIDIZS MK12 X DUCBLOKE as more than another special-edition IEM. For him, its real value lies in combining a premium single dynamic driver with DucBloke’s PEQ profiles, creating an entertaining bass-focused listen and an accessible introduction to tuning.

A Collaboration Built Around PEQ

The MK12 X DUCBLOKE offers its analog tuning alongside Neutral, Sparkle and Hard-Hitting PEQ profiles. Omar prefers Sparkle for his library, finding that the PEQ cleans up the lower mids and balances the powerful low end with additional treble presence.

In analog form, he considers the MK12 a full-on basshead set. Even with Sparkle, bass remains energetic and visceral. Kick drums and bass guitars have satisfying impact, while the single dynamic driver delivers natural attack, decay and texture.

The corrected midrange retains enough warmth and body to avoid becoming thin. Omar finds instruments beautifully rendered, although complex classical or busy jazz recordings can show slight masking. Female vocals can also inherit some warmth from the strong bass.

Spatial Performance That Stands Out

Technical performance does not disappoint him. Stereo width is fantastic in Omar’s experience, and he is equally enthusiastic about the perceived 3D soundstage. On live material, he can distinguish instruments, crowd sounds and venue reflections with convincing depth. He rates imaging and stereo separation solidly above average for the price range.

Treble remains controlled even with Sparkle. Omar does not find it fatiguing or sibilant at higher volumes, though he sometimes wants slightly more sizzle from cymbals.

A More Premium DUCBLOKE Package

Omar considers the accessories a clear upgrade over the standard MK12 package. He praises the red eight-wire cable as premium, well-behaved and free from microphonics, while the padded carrying case offers excellent crush resistance. Premium velvet ear tips are also included.

The aluminum shells feel solid and proved comfortable for Omar during four-to-five-hour sessions, though their large size caused fit problems for his wife and may similarly challenge smaller ears.

Overall Assessment

Audio Amigo places the MK12 X DUCBLOKE in his “This is Brilliant” tier. Omar considers it an important collaboration because the three crafted PEQ profiles provide a starting point for listeners who are curious about equalization but intimidated by creating settings from scratch.

It is not aimed at listeners seeking bright, neutral or reference-style sound. For bass lovers, single-DD enthusiasts and anyone wanting to explore PEQ, however, Omar considers it fun, distinctive and genuinely valuable as both an IEM and a gateway into personalized tuning.
