HIDIZS MK12 X DUCBLOKE Review - Z Reviews

Z Reviews approaches the HIDIZS MK12 X DUCBLOKE without using DucBloke’s custom PEQ profiles, which makes his reaction to the collaboration’s analog sound especially interesting. Even before equalization enters the picture, he finds the single dynamic driver enormously entertaining and gives it a full recommendation for bassheads looking for serious low-frequency impact without moving into far more expensive territory.

Bass That Makes an Immediate Impression

The defining characteristic for Z Reviews is unmistakably the low end. He describes the MK12 X DUCBLOKE as having a substantial amount of bass by default, with the 12mm dynamic driver delivering it fast and hard.

His enthusiasm here is clear and immediate. Bass-heavy tracks produce tremendous physical impact, and he repeatedly emphasizes how forceful and satisfying the presentation feels. Despite knowing that DucBloke supplied dedicated PEQ tunings, he says he already likes the IEM without applying them.

The rest of the presentation does not disappear behind that bass. He hears sparkly treble and a solid soundstage, noting directional details appearing clearly within the image. For his preferences, however, the visceral low-frequency performance remains the main attraction.

A Striking Collaboration Design

The appearance receives nearly as much attention. Z Reviews repeatedly comments on just how intensely red the collaboration is, finding the overall package unique and visually memorable.

He also loves the included eight-wire red cable. Its appearance, substantial construction and 4.4mm termination complement the shells, and he considers it a genuinely good cable. One connector component did slide off during handling, which he flags as a minor build issue.

The shells themselves are physically large and heavy. Their pointed lower section can be noticeable while adjusting them, although he says it does not affect comfort once they are properly seated.

Strong Even Before PEQ

An important testing condition is that Z Reviews did not evaluate DucBloke’s parametric EQ profiles. He openly states that PEQ is not normally part of his review process and asks listeners who have tried the custom curves to share their experiences.

That means his recommendation is based on the MK12 X DUCBLOKE’s analog presentation rather than the complete PEQ experience.

Overall Assessment

Z Reviews considers the HIDIZS MK12 X DUCBLOKE an easy recommendation for listeners who actively want powerful bass. He is impressed that this level of fast, forceful single-DD bass is available below the prices he associates with sever7al other bass-focused IEMs.

It may simply be too bass-heavy for some listeners, and its large, weighty shells will not suit everyone. Yet for a basshead seeking an unapologetically physical presentation, sparkly treble, solid staging, distinctive styling and an excellent red cable, Z Reviews sees the MK12 X DUCBLOKE as a great pickup—and memorably calls it “basserrific.”
