Sean Talks Tech approaches the HIDIZS MS2 PRO as more than another affordable IEM. He highlights its hybrid driver configuration, tuning filters and premium-looking construction, but ultimately considers its native sound performance the most important part of the package.
A Fun V-Shaped Foundation
Sean describes the MS2 PRO as having a fun, musical presentation with technical capability behind it. Its V-shaped influence brings together power, clarity and space rather than aiming for a flatter sound.
Bass reaches deep. Sean hears a boomy sub-bass that gives the presentation considerable weight, with certain drops reaching what he describes as subwoofer-level depth. Mid-bass is tight and snappy, hitting hard before getting out of the way without unwanted lingering.
Lower-mid vocals sound natural, clean and grounded to him, with good timbre and body. Upper mids are brighter and more energetic, while female vocals come forward clearly. Treble is crisp and airy, offering sparkle and extension while helping the stage feel open.
Filters Adjust Rather Than Transform
Sean appreciates how much room the filters provide for personal adjustment, but explains that they do not change the IEM’s underlying technical ability. The red filter sounds more balanced to him. Black makes the presentation somewhat darker without removing the mids or treble, while the transparent option becomes clearer and airier, shifting emphasis away from bass and toward the highs.
He also values the possibility of combining different filters with different ear tips, giving listeners more ways to tailor the presentation.
Solid Build Comes With Extra Weight
The zinc-alloy shells have a polished finish and feel solid and reassuring in Sean’s hands. At 27.7g with ear tips for the pair, however, they are not especially light. Sean personally enjoys heavier gadgets, but acknowledges that listeners unfamiliar with heavier IEMs may experience fatigue during longer sessions.
Fit is another consideration. He says the MS2 PRO needs a good seal to perform properly. Because of the shell weight, he needed larger ear tips, which could create pressure in his ears after extended use.
The included cable is high quality in his view, although thinner than he personally prefers. Buyers can choose either a 3.5mm or 4.4mm termination.
Overall Assessment
Sean considers the MS2 PRO a very impressive IEM whose native performance is already strong before any tuning adjustments. Its deep sub-bass, fast mid-bass, natural lower mids, energetic upper mids and airy treble make it especially appealing to listeners who enjoy lively V-shaped tuning.
